Modern Looks
The Golf GTI brings a tight and modern aesthetic to the roads of New Hartford. It features a narrow grille that wings out into narrow headlamps. The fog lights seem arranged in an X pattern on either side, and there is a large air dam. The Golf GTI's profile looks like a traditional four-door hatchback design for a sporty car.
There are six body color options to consider in our new inventory. You can also choose 18- or 19-inch wheels. Dual exhaust pipes are standard, as is a light spoiler at the top of the rear gate. Like most sportier rides, the Golf GTI rides low with 4.7 inches of ground clearance.
Volkswagen developed an exciting interior. While black is the only option, the interior features contrasting silver and lighter-toned elements. Red accent lighting is also available. Bucket-style seats are the norm. Depending on the package, you can also enjoy checker gray, black, and red upholstery. The rear cargo space is 19.9 cubic feet. You can expand it to 34.5 cubic feet by folding the back seats.
Performance
VW employs one engine for the Golf GTI, a 2.0-liter TSI® turbocharged four-cylinder engine. You can pair the turbo with a seven-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Especially with a compact sportback like the Golf GTI, that amount is more than enough power to get up an onramp and merge with congested high-speed traffic. It posts excellent fuel economy ratings, with an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
With fewer manual transmissions on the American market, a lot of the appeal of the Golf GTI is the manual option. You can pair the 2.0-liter turbocharger with a six-speed manual setup. That combination has the same horsepower and torque numbers while hitting 23 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. Even the base package includes a limited-slip differential. You also can use the adaptive suspension system to maximize performance.
Technology
The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro system is the gauge cluster system for the Golf GTI. It displays important information like the time, your current speed, and the tachometer. You could also check the projected remaining fuel range. There is a system that displays information about everything from G-forces to torque.
An 8.3-inch infotainment display is the base setup. You also can upgrade to a 10-inch system to entertain you while traveling around Utica. A seven-speaker audio configuration is the standard on the lowest trim. Yorkville, NY drivers can upgrade to a Harmon Kardon system with nine speakers and a subwoofer.
